Cash Tycoon is a 2D game mode that is only available with assignments. It is very similar to Tycoon, but it is in 2D, and you can use Cosmetics. There is a question answering station to earn Cash (similar to Fishtopia), and 4 sections to purchase upgrades. At the end of each upgrade hall, there is a teleporter.

Cash Tycoon is a recreation of our Classic Mode in 2D! In this mode, students answer questions to earn in-game Cash!
Students then reinvest their money by purchasing upgrades to increase their future earnings. With thousands of upgrade combinations, students can make purchases that suit their strengths.

- This gamemode can only be played when played as an assignment.
- The descriptions are "Gimkit Classic in 2D" and "Answer questions, earn Cash, purchase upgrades".
- Team Gimkit didn't change the descriptions when Gimkit Classic became "Tycoon".
