The Dig It Up Banner

Dig It Up is a 2D gamemode that released on April 2, 2024. It uses the Platforming movement style, similar to Don't Look Down.

Overview[]

Dig It Up is a Platformer Mode that features new mechanics such as mining, building, random terrain generation, and NPCs that you can interact with. The game uses a free-for-all style with the main goal being to mine, trade, and build in attempt to save Mayor Cole from a Hot-Air Balloon. The first player to reach Mayor Cole or be at the highest elevation when the game ends is declared the winner.

Mayor Cole is stuck 200 meters up in the air, requiring you to purchase permits from The Broker using resources mined to build further. Blocks are found in the caves below the surface. You can talk to the Orehound to use resources to upgrade your Pickaxe to the next rarity; with common being free (which is already equipped when you begin the game) and Legendary being the best. You need to gain and use Energy to move in Dig It Up.

How to Play[]

Lore[]

  • You can find Rocky West, MineRide, Doug, and Yellow Split near the surface of Diggsburg, telling you some things about Mayor Cole, Diggsburg, and other parts of the game.
  • Rocky West talks about how his "friend" (Mayor Cole) is in trouble but he has things to do on the farm, so you have to help the mayor instead.
  • MineRide talks about how the Mayor Cole isn't who he says he is, how Diggsburg has been struggling, and how Mayor Cole refuses to do anything. He also thinks that maybe Mayor Cole's allegiance lies with something besides the Gims of Diggsburg.
  • Doug says that Mayor Cole is looking for 10 Gold Keys but doesn't explain why.
  • Yellow Split questions why Mayor Cole even went up in the hot air balloon, thinking that maybe he was looking for something.
  • Admiral Pulsar will give you a Gold Key once spoken to.
  • You can find 10 Gold Keys in-game, and if you reach Mayor Cole with all 10 Gold Keys, you will be thanked and made the new Mayor of Diggsburg.
  • When rescuing Mayor Cole with all 10 Gold Keys, you'll be told about the Council of Mardonix, which Mayor Cole needed to see in the sky. He also says, "Oh, that's right. You don't know who those are. Forget I said that.", suggesting the council is a secretive organization.
  • When meeting Admiral Pulsar, He says "I can't help but look up at the stars. I hope I can travel up there one day." This means that Dig It Up takes place before the events of One Way Out.

Notes[]

  • The descriptions are "Dig down & build up!" and "Mine & climb to save the mayor of Diggsburg".
  • Gold Key locations remain constant in every game you play, despite the dynamic terrain changing.
