One Way Out is a game mode that was released on March 30, 2023!
One Way Out is a co-op Player Vs. Environment escape room mode that requires players to work together to get through three sectors, while also funding for gadgets to progress faster.
The timer in this mode tracks the amount of time taken in-game, the game automatically ends after 1 hour and 30 minutes have passed.
Gadgets
The cost of gadgets changes depending on the amount of players in the game. The average damage of gadgets changes by rarity, with common being the base damage and legendary being the highest.
Enemies
There are only 2 enemies currently in the game: An evil plant (Green) creature in the shape of a Gim with a wand that slowly fires high power bolts at the nearest player, and a boss variant that is the same except the color scheme is swapped and deals more damage compared to the normal evil plant.
Enemies respawn after an allotted time that depends on the chosen difficulty setting (Green evil plants, and Boss evil plants that are in normal game progression respawn, the 4 Boss evil plants in the One Way Out Secret Mission do not respawn at all). Enemies when being killed have a chance to drop a Green keycard that can be used to unlock gates to other sectors. The pink enemies drop a gold keycard which can be used to unlock secret missions, but the testing wasn't able to be opened since once finding the escape room everyone gets teleported there. (Note: Enemies do not shoot players out of energy.)
Progression
All sectors have the same summary: rooms with enough enemies to get to the next sector, with a room at the end containing a cluster of enemies at once, leading to a filler room with a teleportal back to spawn, and free Shield Cans and Medkits.
The first sector has very few enemies, and has a requirement of around 10 keycards needed to progress to the next sector. Second sector has many more enemies to feed for the requirement of around 10-15 keycards needed. Third sector is covered with enemies and also has a requirement of around 15 keycards The final sector has an extreme amount of enemies and needs a total of 20 keycards needed to get to the final rush for the end.
Once unlocked, the final room teleports all players to the same room, and everyone must work together to destroy the final vine pillar and drop into the escape hatch.
The cost of gates is determined by number of players in the game, these numbers are base prices for solo gameplay.
Difficulty
This mode has difficulty options, they are set by the host and affect the damage, health, accuracy, and fire rate of enemies, and the costs of gates. The difficulties are:
- Beginner

Map
Lore
- The Alphastar crash landed in Apocalypse.
Notes
- In the ending screen, there are vines on the thruster of the ship, with Green Split looking worried. This may suggest a continuation of One Way Out with either the Evil Plants returning, or the ship crashing.
- ^This notes still applies, and the ship crashed in Apocalypse
- Two Gimkit server moderators appear as a reference in One Way Out. Eesoog is listed as the creator of the Muffin recipe, and TGG is listed as an author for a book.
- The descriptions are "Escape the ship!" and "Evil plants have taken over your spaceship. Work together to escape."
- One Way Out has the fourth most Gims on its banner out of every 2D Gamemode, with 5 Gims (7 if counting the Evil Plants)
- We learn the fate of the escape ship as we can find it in the top corner in the Gamemode Apocalypse.
