Snowy Survival is an infection-style 2D gamemode on Gimkit.
Players start with a 20-second grace period, Then the first "curse" happens, and a set amount of players are infected (changeable in options) and named The Cursed. Cursed players are equipped with a Snowball Launcher that when used on a normal player, will deal damage. Once a player runs out of health, they turn into a cursed. The game has no visible timer and only ends when every player is cursed or when the host ends the game. In the files, Snowy Survival is known as 'snowInfection'.
Map[]
The Map in Snowy Survival is a mash-up of every prior 2D game mode map (other than Cash Tycoon and This or That)
- The Vortex basketball hoop, desk, and filing cabinets from Capture the Flag and Tag: Domination appear at the bottom right of the Map
- The Echo tables, filing cabinets, and more appear in the top right of the Map
- The Answering Station and lake appear from Fishtopia appear at the bottom left of the Map, and you can fish in the lake.
- Some farmland and crops from Farmchain appear at the top right of the map
Pre-Release[]
Before Snowy Survival officially released, it had gone through massive changes, map and gameplay wise.
During the first playtest in the Gimkit Discord, Snowy Survival originally did not have the Vortex and Echo area, as well as the Fishtopia and Farmchain area. These areas were just snowy and blocked by fences.
When it comes to gameplay, Snowy Survival was very different.
- Cursed were one shot.
- Survivors spawned in with a Rare Snowball launcher, while Cursed did not.
- Cursed were always a little faster with no configurable settings.
- Players answer questions to get 1,000 Energy. (The Your Rules update was not out at the time.) This includes Survivors and Cursed.
- Survivors regenerate one Snowball every two seconds and would max at 30 Snowballs.
Once playtesting was over, Josh made new changes to the map and gameplay, and just a few days later, Snowy Survival became what it is today.

- Gims, humanoid creatures, are created on the island of Fishtopia. Surrounded by water, they find a machine, one that lets you receive what you need to survive. They start to develop games to pass the time.
- The Gims create two factions, Echo and Vortex. The factions are at odds, constantly sending spies, and attacking the other team in an attempt to steal "Energy" A substance Gims need to move, do actions, and survive.
- In an attempt to get the upper hand on Echo, Vortex finds two sheets worth of passwords.
- Two entities, Vesper and "The Crafter" communicate on alternate dimension travel. "The Crafter" is obsessed with finding out the secret to cross-dimensional communication.
- In the Farmchain, experiments are being run by a third party that is led by Rocky West. The Third party is in league with Echo.
- In Farmchain, the chemical supreme is developed by blue cells in the research lab.
- The third party predicts a snowstorm. Eventually, the predictions come true, and The World of Gims is covered in snow.
- After, The Crafter works harder. But eventually It goes too far. The experiments merge all of the realms together; causing parts of Echo, Vortex, Fishtopia, and Farmchain combine.
- The Crafter leaves a note for Vesper in a vault.
- Echo's computer becomes unlocked with the 14th password on the 2nd sheet, which reveals the recipe for chemical supreme.
- Chemical Supreme is used to power on a transmitter which sends a signal to The Crafter.
- The Crafter was expecting Vesper and shortly breaks off contact.
Somehow, "The Crafter" also gets on the Alphastar ship (found in One Way Out) and writes The Crafter was Here in the secret mission room.

- The descriptions are "Worlds collide, try to survive!" and "Escape from the curse that keeps growing!"
- There was a bug where the Cursed appeared as Sentry Robots.
- This gamemode is heavily involved in Gimkit Lore and Snowy Survival Lore.
